Welcome to an Educational Program by Equinessence!

Optimizing Equine Performance & Recovery Program

An exclusive educational program developed, designed, and instructed by Molly Wells to make a positive impact in the equine industry through education.

the optimizing equine performance & recovery program

an equinessence educational program

The Optimizing Equine Performance & Recovery Program consists of online courses and in-person seminars to increase the standards and level of athletic care in the equine industry. This program is open to all equine professionals and equestrians. It was developed by Molly Wells, who is the sole instructor for this educational opportunity to help improve and progress the equine performance world. She combines her credentials and experience in the professional sports industry, with her qualifications and knowledge in equine sports in order to help make a positive impact for our equine athletes.

Participants in this program are NOT required to own or purchase equipment. This is a separate program from the ATS Acuscope Courses. This program is open to all equine professionals, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, chiropractors, body workers, massage therapists, owners, trainers, riders, farriers, and anyone who wants to learn. International students are also welcome to join this program.

The OEPR Program was developed to offer people throughout the equine industry important information that will allow them to expand their knowledge, and therefore expand their impact in the lives of the horses that they encounter and work with. The information in this course is backed by scientific research and studies that allow further insight to what occurs in the equine industry, with discussions on how to prevent and care for injuries and chronic conditions that arise throughout all equine disciplines.

This expanding program currently has two levels with the third level being released in 2023:

Level 1 Online Series: This is an online course consisting of 14 sessions held over a 14 week period (one 3 hour evening session per week for 14 weeks, held on Tuesday evenings). This is a comprehensive course covering a wide range of important topics in the equine industry. All students receive a Welcome Packet prior to the start of this course with training materials. This course also includes a written exam after the 14th session is complete, and a Certificate of Completion to all students who successfully complete the course. The OPER Level 1 Online Course is approximately 90 hours of education. This course is offered twice per year, once in the spring and once in the fall. Level 1 is a pre-requisite for Level 2.

Level 2 In-person Seminar: After students have successfully completed Level 1, they will become eligible to register for a Level 2 Seminar. This is a 4 day in-person seminar to incorporate practical application and hands-on experience from the knowledge that is learned in the Level 1 Online Course. This is an opportunity for students to expand their knowledge and experience to deepen their impact in the equine industry. Level 2 is a prerequisite for Level 3.

Level 3 In-person Seminar: This is an in-person seminar to advance the students knowledge, practical application, and experience to optimize performance, aid in better recovery and rehabilitation, and incorporating deeper knowledge of biomechanics and the requirements of equine athletes to provide professional care.

All courses provide training materials, have a written exam, and students will receive a Certificate of Completion once the required hours and written exam have been completed. Each Level will be offered twice per year.

This is a great opportunity for ATS Certified Acuscope Therapists to continue their education, and it is also a great way for aspiring therapists to begin their educational journey in preparation of becoming an equine therapist.
